GROWTH – Randy Ulseth

  • DSGW presented a Pine City building project update.
  • Ground breaking for Pine City building project and Pharmacy open house – week of October 13th.
  • Discussion on FirstLight participating as a VA Clinic.
  • School referendum discussion.
  • Marketing position update.

FINANCE – Ella Stenstrom

  • Ella presented information on the August financials. Both volumes and expenses were down.
  • Budget process and packets will be sent out next week.

QUALITY – Ellen Ryan

  • Ellen presented a PowerPoint on the overall results of the Patient Safety Culture Survey. Emails will be sent out to the departments with their individual results.

EVIDENCE BASED LEADERSHIP DISCUSSION – Randy Ulseth

  • Recognition of several departments and individuals were noted.
  • Initial telephone conference is set for Thursday, September 25th to go over expectations for October 6th – Studer Group Assessment and Model Planning Visit.
  • October 6th meeting involves Senior Leadership, Board Chair, Chief Medical Executive, Human Resource Director and Director of Nursing.
  • December 1st – Evidence Based Leadership Kickoff for FirstLight Health System.
  • Teams that were developed in 2013 are to get back together and revitalize. Teams will present to the Department manager meeting in October.

OTHER

  • Randy has been nominated to be on the MHA Board starting in 2015.
  • Leann was nominated to be on the Argosy University Board.
  • Becky Gallik presented an update on the Stage 2 Meaningful Use.
  • Excellian update July 2015 – more information to follow.
  • A Nursing update was presented by Diane.
  • Ambulance update presented by Dave S.
  • Surgery and OR equipment has arrived and is being installed by Stryker.
  • Pine City Pharmacy update – accepting all insurances.
  • Amber Smith from Pharmacy received the MN Technician of the Year Award.
  • Brent Thompson was awarded the 2014 Bowl of Hygeia Award for outstanding community service.
  • Rehab Services update by Garrett.
  • Employee Evaluation Program update from Kim.
  • Employee/Provider Engagement Survey – will be sent out October 6th.
  • October 6 – 10 – Materials Management Week.
  • Update from Stacey on Patient Access department.
  • Karen gave an update in Lab.
  • Dr. John Schmitt, ENT will be starting in December.
  • Dr. Matt Patterson will begin doing allergy and Sleep Studies beginning in January.
  • Children’s hospital’s ED and our ED will be starting a virtual connection in the near future. More information to follow.
  • RPAP student Jess Olen will be starting in October and will be here for 9 months.
  • Joint Commission update.
  • Reminder – OLE needs to be completed by December 31st.
  • Julie Ray presented an update on happenings in the Clinic.
  • Budget process – computers will be requested through IT, not the capital budget.
