November Leadership Minutes 2015

SECURITY – Sue Belford
 Sue presented a power point presentation on Privacy and Security Breach vs Incidents It included the definition of a breach, lists of reportable breaches, examples and some interesting facts.
 Sue reviewed two new forms, HIPAA Breach Decision Tool and Risk Assessment Documentation Form and Privacy/Security Incident Reporting Form. They are located on the Public Folder. If you have questions, contact Sue.
 Reminder to complete the Privacy/Security walk through of your department. Completed forms turned in by December 10th.

ADMINISTRATION/BOARD UPDATE-Randy Ulseth
 Randy and managers shared wins within their departments.
 Kim Tepley presented a marketing presentation to the Board at the November board meeting.
 Final CEO Goal update for 2015. Executive Committee will meet next week to review goals.
 Mora Building planning update – Committee has chosen Kraus Anderson to be the Construction Manager.

CFO UPDATE/Gordy Forbort
 Gordy presented the financials for October. Net revenue is up; expenses are on budget, strong bottom line. Good year.

COO UPDATE/Sandy Zutz-Wiczek
 Update on Manager Holiday gathering. December 18th – more details to follow.
 2 new Physician Assistants have been hired. Will work with Dr. Weeks in the Mora ED and then move to Pine City Urgency Services.

QUALITY UPDATE – Ellen Ryan
 Ellen reviewed the AIDET validation timeline for 2016.
 Swank Online update – all online education is to be completed by 12/31. Managers are to remind employees to complete courses. Ellen will send out department progress to managers.

HUMAN RESOURCE UPDATE – Kim Carlson
 Managers are to contact Kim if you would like her to come to your department meeting to review the process on how to update employee goals in Halogen.
 Open Enrollment – deadline 12/5. Forms are available in HR. Wellness incentive needs to be completed by 12/15. See Kim or Michelle for more information.
 Negotiations are underway with EMS/Paramedics, UFCW and SEIU.
 Kim updated managers on the employee survey response rate. More information to follow, mid-December.
 Next LDI’s– January 13th and April 21. Kim will send out invites.
 Studer Virtual Conference – February 22 – 24. More information to come.
 Please return change of status for employees to HR in a timely manner.

FACILITIES UPDATE – Mark Vizenor
 Discussion on holiday decorations. A sample checklist and “Scrooge List” was distributed to managers to use as a reference when displaying decorations.
 Department decorations will be available next week in the gym.

OTHER
 Garrett gave an update on the Starlight and Behavior of Excellence committee members.
 Rehab department update – smoking cessation program, ergonomic assessments, athletic trainer opening.
 Nursing has 5 open RN positions. We have a HUC student and a Capstone student
 Ultrasound in Pine City – November
 A meeting will be set up to talk about student housing in the near future
 Next Excellian update is scheduled for 10/8/16.
 Update on Clinic services – lots of growth in the specialty areas. Looking for LPN’s for the Clinic.
 Revenue Cycle department is looking at different systems to increase efficiency and also help with cost savings.
 Materials Management will be doing physical inventory of the storeroom sometime near the end of December.
 PFAC – opportunity to learn more about Patient Family Advisory Councils, what it is, who is involved. Monday, November 30th at 10:30 and 1pm.
