Construction to begin for the new business office / HR area
Facilities is happy to announce that a building permit was issued and work is underway for the new business office and HR area. They anticipate the whole process will take about two months to complete.

April Environmental Challenge
April is known for Earth day. We can make conscious efforts to focus on our environmental health this month by making small lifestyle changes that benefit the planet.
Sometimes a “zero waste” lifestyle or sustainability journey can seem really out of reach, but the truth is that making sustainability swaps doesn’t have to be difficult or costly! Even a few small changes can make a big difference. Here are a few you can consider this Earth Month:
- Consider making energy efficient home swaps.
- Choose seasonal produce next time you get groceries.
- Set up a carpool — or choose any other car-free mode of transportation.
- Try to buy — and waste — less. And if you do need something, consider investing in mindful eco-friendly (or pre-loved!) products.
- Compost your food scraps.
Spend time in nature. Last but not least, spend time in the great outdoors as you celebrate this big, blue beauty we call Mother Earth. This is a great way to mitigate some climate anxiety, renew your sense of wonder and hope for the world, and honor the planet in all its glory.
Today through the end of the month, we challenge you to do one thing to support environmental health. Take a picture of your efforts and share with Paige Nelson at pnelson@welia.org. All participants will receive a seedling tree to take home!
Welia Health Gift Shop Scholarship
The Welia Health Volunteer Gift Shop is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to an adult who has been out of high school at least 3 years and wishes to further his or her education in one of the schools of medical science.
The applicant must be a United States Citizen and living in Kanabec or Pine County.

2023 Life Rice Event
Welia Health helped pack food boxes for Ukraine last weekend. With over 30 volunteers at the event, we helped donate just over 17,000 meals! Thank you to everyone who participated. If you are interested in participating in our next volunteer event, reach out to Paige nelson at pnelson@welia.org.
