Hospital Board/Financial Update/Chris Kimbler

  • Bob Woods gave an update on Physician Recruitment – we are continuing to work on recruiting family practice physicians and general surgery.
  • Allina relationship – hospital board approved the following documents:

Affiliation Agreement
Asset Purchase Agreement
Professional Services Agreement

  • The Real Estate Purchase Agreement was taken to the county board and was approved at the April 28, 2011 to have everything in place and operational. This is very positive for all employees as well as patient care.
  • Employee meetings are set for Monday, May 3rd. Location and times are posted on the intranet.
  • We are purchasing the Hinckley Clinic and will take ownership at the end of the year. Remodeling will take place this summer.
  • Two architect proposals will be presented at the May hospital board meeting for the construction of a Pine City Clinic.
  • Financials for March were stronger than January and February. Continuing to work on keeping expenses down during slow months.

Materials Management/Pat Runquist

      • Pat reviewed the changes in the Capitol and Minor Equipment form and policy. There is also a new form for IT, for equipment being ordered between $150 – $500. The forms will be on the intranet for easy access. Signatures are needed from the required departments and will need to be complete before approval is given.

Other

      • Kim Carlson reviewed the Press Ganey success results. They will be placed on the intranet.
      • Bob Woods reported that John Gilbert will be retiring next week. Matt Hamiel is his replacement.
      • Imaging area demolition has started. Waiting on building permit. Still looking for completion sometime in September.
      • Lab student will be finishing up the end of next week. Three additional students from the U of M will start rotations this summer.
      • Relay for Life Auction is next Friday, May 7th. Silent Auction baskets are needed. Still room for employees to be part of the Relay for Life Team
      • Center State Health Event for April was a huge success > 50 people attended – topic was Osteoporosis. May’s event is Stroke Awareness.
      • Week of May 10th is Hospital Week. Kick off event is “Manager Breakfast” A sign up sheet will be sent out to managers to select times to serve.
      • Pat reviewed the phone conference with Marco regarding printer/toner cartridges. A form will be placed on the intranet for those that need to order toner and/or service. Any questions, see Pat.
      • Sue Belford reported that there were many positive comments regarding the security updates that were placed on the intranet during Security week. Look for additional updates to be posted.
      • Katie Kerr and Sue Belford are finishing up with role based security access.
      • Brent reported that pharmacy has started to utilize the additional space. Next resident will start in June, she is from Canada.
      • Brent will be inducted into the MN Pharmacy Association – as current President.
      • Kim Carlson has been interviewing the next group of MCE students.
      • PT has presented an offer letter for the position in Hinckley – waiting to hear.
      • A student will be working with the Speech Clinician for the next 12 weeks.
      • A cost savings evaluation is being done on the ordering of PT supplies.
